Interview with Carolina Martínez Elebi: "One of the biggest problems with these technologies is that there seems to be no outside."

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a discipline whose rapid advances have opened the debate about the impact of these technologies on people's lives. This development has become widespread in terms of social uses since 2023, when one of its most effective materializations, Generative Artificial Intelligence, particularly ChatGPT, became a protagonist due to its expanded social use, along with the tools designed to generate images, photographs and illustrations, with very specific examples in the recent Argentine electoral campaign and in the daily life of the recent government, whose members use it thoughtlessly. In this interview we think together with Carolina Martinez Elevi (CME), a specialist on the subject. 

CME has a degree in Communication Sciences and a professor at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). He researches and writes about the impact of info-communications technologies on society and human rights. She is director of Human Rights and Tecno.
